1.The ‘Empire’ soundtrack claims top spot on the albums chart over Madonna’s ‘Rebel Heart’…

Last week we told you guys about the EPIC chart battle between Madonna’s thirteenth studio album, Rebel Heart, and the sizzling Empire soundtrack. Well, the numbers are in kids and Empire will be getting all sorts of turnt up in the pole position. Coming in at 130, 000 copies over Madonna’s 121, 000, it’s also the first soundtrack to debut in the top spot since 2010 when all…those…Glee albums were tearing up the chart. However, Madonna shouldn’t be too disappointed (well, maybe a little bit), ‘Rebel Heart’ is the Material Girl’s 21st top 10 album, so indeed that is something to celebrate..

Get ready…on April 2nd, Lip Sync Battle will make like Rupaul and have all sorts of A-list celebrities lip synching for their lives. Based off the hilarious The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon segment, the Spike TV show will be hosted by LL Cool J along with supermodel Chrissy Teigan, and judging by the dazzling trailer, ‘Battle’ looks like it will be slaying the competition in the ratings all spring long. All we can say is…Anna Kendrick+J.Lo+a ‘Booty’ battle=yas.

3.Is Jessica Simpson recording music again??

It sure looks like it. After almost five years (seems longer) from the music scene, it looks like one-time pop starlet Jessica Simpson is finally getting back to her chanteuse roots. The fashionista diva recently told Extra,”Right now, I’m starting a record, and I’m getting into a lot of other things. I have a recording studio in my house so I can be around my babies as well and they might try and sing over me. They won’t be background vocalists, they’ll be like ‘ahhh.’ They’ll be upfront and personal.” Hey, if she can come up with something like her underrated ’06 single, “A Public Affair,” then we certainly won’t mind her trademark ditziness.

Amy, the upcoming documentary telling the story of gone-too-soon singer, Amy Winehouse, is set to be released in the U.K. on July 3rd, just weeks before the fourth anniversary of the singer’s untimely death. Directed by Asif Kapadia, the film will feature an array of unseen footage as well as a handful of unheard Ms. Winehouse tracks. While no U.S. release date has been set, we can probably bet on a stateside announcement to follow soon…
