1.’Empire’ producer hell bent on getting Eminem to guest star next season…..and Oprah…

This morning on Good Morning America, ‘Empire’ producer Brian Grazer announced his plans to land quite a buffet of plum guest stars for season 2, including the one-and-only, Eminem…and Oprah. Of his plans to persuade the rapper for a spot, Grazer (who produced Em’s ’02 film, ‘8 Mile), said, “Eminem, I know, loves our show.  I’m going to beg him to get on our show. He and Oprah Winfrey. Somehow I’m going to get one or both of them on our show.” Given the fact that ‘Empire’ show creator Lee Daniels directed Ms. Oprah in ‘The Butler,’ landing both of these big named divas doesn’t seem too far out of reach, does it? Guess we’ll have to (patiently) wait to find out when ‘Empire’ returns this fall….

 2.Your 2015 Billboard Music Awards nominees are…..

….pretty much Taylor Swift and Sam Smith, well, for the first few categories, anyway. This morning on ‘GMA,’ the first five categories for the Billboard Music Awards were announced, and Mr. Smith and Ms. Swift led the pack with four nominations each, with both also landing in the coveted category for Top Hot 100 Song for their hits, “Stay With Me” and “Shake It Off.” Along with Swift in the Top Female Artist category are Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and Meghan Trainor and with Mr. Smith are Drake, Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran and Justin Timberlake. To see who else is nominated go right here and stay tuned for the BMA’s when they drop Sunday, May 17th on ABC with Ludacris hosting and supermodel diva Chrissy Teigan taking on co-hosting duties.

3.Madonna dishes to Cosmo on haters and what it was REALLY working with Kanye….

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, the ever-so-busy Material Girl spill all kinds of music tea with the mag, including what it was really like working with Kanye and dealing with all…those…online haters. “You can hide behind your computer or your phone and say whatever you want-you’re not known,” Madge told the mag, “Could you say it to my face? Would you say it to my face?” (“would it sound better if I were a man?” She didn’t say that, but I just had to.) And as far as working with Kanye on her recent ‘Rebel Heart’ set, the 53-year-old singer said, “It’s a little bit of a bullfight, but we take turns. He knows that he’s walking into a room with a strong person with a strong point of view, and I do, too. I listen to what he has to say and takes it in. We didn’t agree on everything, but he has good ideas.” Hmmm…Madonna and Kanye in the recording studio…imagine being a fly on the music wall that day..

4.Frank Ocean (finally) announces ‘channel Orange’ follow up….

After what’s seemed like years of anticipation (wait…it has), out-and-proud baby makin’ crooner, Frank Ocean, has finally announced a new album. Since the release of his critically acclaimed “channel Orange’ album in 2012, Mr. Ocean has been seemingly quiet, so you can imagine he caused  quite a stir on Tumblr yesterday when he posted an image of himself looking down at two magazines called, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ using the hashtags, #Album3, #July2015, #BoysDontCry. But, wait don’t think ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ is the name of Ocean’s album, that name is being served for…a new publication the singer is putting together. While no solid details have emerged about the new set or magazine, we can expect that this is only the beginning of Mr. Frank’s grand return to music form.
