2.J.Lo announces Las Vegas residency….
Now that ‘American Idol’ will be wrapping up after season 15, it makes sense that current judge Jennifer Lopez needed something to do pass the music time–and that’s just what she’s plans on doing–by kicking off a Las Vegas residency, naturally. After ‘A.I.’ wraps next year, Ms. Lo will be heading to Sin City as the singer and ‘Maid in Manhattan’ actress confirmed speculation during last night’s ‘Idol” finale, where she said she had inked a deal with Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for a show beginning January 2016.
In her official statement about the upcoming Vegas spectacle, the Ms. diva stated, “I’ve been preparing for this moment my entire life. (?)The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love—Dance, Hip Hop, Latin, and Pop. It’s going to be the show I’ve always dreamt of creating.”
Tickets for J.Lo’s residency go on sale this Saturday, May 16, and for the full list of dates, check this out. Who’s ready for yet another diva to take over Sin City? Everyone….

4.Mumford and Sons score second Billboard #1 album…..
Pop the music champagne because folked-up rockers Mumford & Sons have just scored their second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as their brand spankin’ new studio set, ‘Wilder Mind’ will take the coveted top spot selling a quite lovely 249,000 copies its first week out. Of Wilder Mind’s, um, wild start, pure album sales equated to 231,000 — which is a steep drop off from the arrival of their last album–2012’s Babel. That set launched at No. 1 with a whopping 600,000 copies sold — a feat that remains the largest sales week for any rock album…this decade. Either way, in this music sales day and age, ‘Wilder Heart’ is still a sales success. Nice werk, boys!
In other chart news, crooner Josh Groban’s ‘Stages’ holds steady for a second week, moving 101,000 units (down a moderate 44 percent), as the new Now 54 compilation enters at No. 3 with 71,000 units, giving the long-running Now That’s What I Call Music! series its 60th(!) top 10 album. Yes, you’re reading that correctly…we’re all getting old.
