Philly Weekly Entertainment Groove

Let’s face it…..

Without going into all of the truly awful pearl clutching details, 2017 will go down as the worst year on the history of, well, god damn ever.

While no question these days is accompanied by any piece of the truth, what we can do is speak up (and vote tomorrow, too), but most of all….not be afraid to live in hopes that things that will get better.

And for fuck’s sake, stop judging, blocking, deleting and shade-throwing at everything and everyone…..because it’s not about you…it’s all about all of us and how we’re ALL going to make it through these tough times.

So, let’s do it…now.

Sing Your Life Karaoke w/ Sara Sherr In the mood to slay your favorite karaoke grooves all week long? Well, you’re in luck because chances are the always colorful Ms. Sherr has everything you need for your song butchering/slaying pleasure at any one of these fab Philly locations listed below. The Phantom of the Opera  An event, make that–a stage spectacle–that truly needs no introduction as everyone and their Broadway music mother is in tune to legendary composer Andrew Lloyd’s Webber’s classic production. Broad St./Various ticket prices and showtimes

Full Front Street  If you’re looking for one of the hottest shows in Philly on a Monday night (and every), you must head to Victoria Freehouse where your hostess with the absolute, um, nothing on, Ms. Honeytree Evil Eye, always has her tassels and so much more ready and waiting for you, along with a fresh new roster tonight which includes the Burlesque stylings of Bugalu Boogie and Rebelle Rouge, as well as the singing stylings of Ms. Lizzie Spellman! Go right here for more Full Front Street tea on the daily and then…get ready. Every Monday/9 pm/show at 10/Victoria Freehouse/10 S. Front St.

Bebe Rexha   That voice! That style! That sass! Those sounds! Yes, it’s all going to be on display once the insatiable Ms. Rexha takes over the stage at The Troc this Wednesday night. Bag ’em up. Wednesday/8 pm/The Trocadero/1003 Arch St.

Cloud Nine Looking for the perfect place to let go and escape all of the bullshit this week? Then you must descend to the Ascend Lounge at Tavern on Camac this hump day evening where the always on point DJ Brando Calrissian will be waiting for you along with his beat besties, DJ Vern and DJ Devastator, as well as a bountiful buffet of gummy grooves to help you get lifted up to the dance music heavens. And of course, your favorite Gayborhood bartending legend, Michael Rasmussmen, will be pouring those drinks to give you the proper amount of liquid courage to show off those killer dance moves that you know you can’t wait to display, kween. Let’s party. No cover/Wednesday/9 pm/Tavern on Camac/243 S. Camac St.

Martha Graham Cracker Philly’s legendary drag performance artist is (finally!!) baaaaaack! No further explanation needed. Don’t miss it! Thursday/8 pm/L’Etage/624 South 6th St.

Tegan & Sara All we want to do is get a little “Closer” to the truth in finding out if there are any tickets left to witness all of the sisterly sass that’s guaranteed to take over the Tower Theatre this Friday once this dynamic duo hits the stage. And guess what? There are….so get ’em right here and then let your “Body Work,’ bish.  Friday/9 pm/Tower Theatre/19 South 69th St.

Tiësto Although you’ll have to do a little bit of traveling for this weekend’s hottest dance party, it’s Tiësto we’re spilling about here so shut the fuck up and get over it while you let those grooves get in. After you snatch those tickets up, of course.   Sunday/8 pm/Sands Bethlehem Entertainment Center/77 Sands Blvd
