Grammy Performances of the Day/Adele/”Hello”/”Fastlove”

Are you ready for some……..Grammy action?

Yes, before we get down to next weekend’s bigger-than-big Super Bowl showdown (anyone know who’s in it?? Of course we do…f@cking go, Birds!), the 60th annual Grammy Awards will be singing their way into our lives at 8 pm this Sunday on CBS.

And no, you’re not losing your mind, they’re on in January this year to avoid scheduling complications with the 2018 Winter Olympics,  which will be airing on the network a few weeks later.

So, with that being said, the time is, like, right now to get all sorts of prepped up for this weekend’s show (check out the full list of nominees right here) to see how many more Grammys Bruno Mars and Jay Z will be placing on their mantle (Alessia Cara for Best New Artist?) and of course, just what everyone will be wearing as the fashion on display is just as important as to who’s going to snatch the whole entire evening in the palm of their musical hand.

But alas……the performances that take place on music’s biggest night are truly what we come for, and this year is certainly no exception as Lady Gaga, P!nk, Childish Gambino, Little Big Town, Ben Platt, Patti LuPone, Bruno Mars, Cardi B, DJ Khaled, Rihanna, Bryson Tiller, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, SZA, Kesha, Kendrick Lamar, U2, Elton John, Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, Eric Church, Maren Morris and Brothers Osborne are all set to take the Super Bowl, err, (not there yet…), Grammy stage this Sunday to serving us with an evening that music fans from all over the globe will never forget.

Before we all get to break 2018 Grammy tea mugs, it’s always delightful and most highly appropriate to take a gander back to past performances and scene stealing moments, as much is the case when last year’s show can be summed up in one word…Adele. Not only did the 25 diva big up five trophies that night including Album, Record and Song of the Year, but she gave us not one, but two legendary performances.

First, opening up the ceremony with a slaying and soaring performance of “Hello,” which was followed a tad bit later with a tribute to the late and forever great George Michael with a performance of “Fastlove.” But much to our dismay, this wasn’t just another spectacular performance from the English Breakfast tea sipping diva because when it didn’t start off to her own perfection, Adele took care of business the only way she knows how…by being fucking Adele and cursing on live television. Priceless.

However….while those moments come oh, so close, the moment Adele truly stole the show occurred at the very end of the night when 25 took home the Album of the Year trophy in which the “Rolling in the Deep” songstress accepted her trophy…and then broke off a piece for her new bestie, Beyoncé, and Emma Gerber, too!

Delivering an empowering speech, Adele spilled to Bey how the award should be hers and how she didn’t understand how Lemonade didn’t win as it was–and still is–a dominating force to be reckoned with. This was quickly followed by the “Set Fire to the Rain” owner literally breaking her Grammy into pieces for the world to see while at the same time giving us a timeless moment that quickly became a heavenly slice of music history.

Only at the Grammys, kids. So, who’s ready for this Sunday? Everyone.
