Weekday Entertainment Groove

Whether you’re in the mood to support local drag (as you should..hey, Ms. Martha Graham Cracker), catch some Citizen Cope vibes, dance your ass off to the grooves dished out by some fiery DJs, or get your Mariah Carey-oke on, this (and every) week’s list of entertaining Philly activities has a little something for the local and legendary entertainment lover in all of us

Meaning you, so in a word…go.

Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret/L’Etage Tonight is certainly that night where Philly entertainment legend Martha Graham Cracker is going to make all of us feel alright well into the week ahead and beyond as she dishes out another dose of her delightfully cray shenanigans! So, if you’re looking for something to do this evening that slays “thank u, next” to those Monday night doldrums, plus witness a spectacular spectacle that you’ll definitely tell all of your friends about, this is the night out for you. Don’t miss any of it! Ms. Martha is waiting just for you..and may ALL of us forever respect a hard-working queen. Tickets are $20 right here, $30 at the door, show steps off at 7 pm!

74 Seconds….To Judgement/Arden Theatre Company There’s shows, and then there’s...this show.. a poignant, raw, real story about a jury of 6 who have been in pure deadlock for a week straight as they undoubtably struggle to decide what is ‘justifiable homicide’ in a headline grabbing murder trial. As relevant as it is pure pearl clutching (and big shout out to red-hot Philly playwright Kash Goins for this story as well), it’s a must see for ALL of us in these divided times. It’s taken over The Arden tonight until Sunday, March 10th, and now it’s undoubtedly time to let this gripping show take over your life…right now. Seriously..go see it (and meet one of the show’s leading ladies, Ms. Kala Moses Baxterright here!) you won’t be disappointed.

Sing Your Life Karaoke Hey, Philly karaoke friends and lovers…the time has come..for all of us to belt out the hits for our window shattering lives! All you have to do is join the most fabulous Sara Sherr and her Sing Your Life Karaoke collection at any…or all…..of these phabulous Philly locations listed below…..and then get ready to sing as if your name is Barbra…it’s not, but try those vocals out anyway….it’s just that simple. Let’s crack some vases. Sun/9-2@Bob & Barbara’s……Tues/9-2@12 Steps Down……Thursday/9-2 @Milkboy Philly South St…Fri/9-1@Southhouse….Saturday/9-145@ Les & Doreen’s Happy Tap

Wanda Sykes/Punchline Philly Although her soon-to-be side-splitting affairs in Philly this Tuesday and hump day evening have been sold out for quite some time now (doors open at 730 pm for those blessed ones with tickets), there’s no reason why we can’t watch this hilarious clip from one of Ms. Sykes’ legendary comedy specials…..and wonder why she received no awards love for her supporting turn in Monster-in-Law Law alongside Ms. Fonda and Ms. Lo. Seriously..just watch and try not to die laughing. Love you, boo!

Citizen Cope/Franklin Music Hall Since there’s no denying that the forever chill and laid back music vibes by perhaps one of the greatest indie music acts of all time will always get us from “Z” back to “A” at any given moment in this bonkers life, you should absolutely de-stress from your week by going to this show to completely ebb and flow into a most zen-filled March. “Let the Drummer Kick,” anyone? Always. Get those tickets. (830 pm

Morgan Page/NOTO Because no matter what we go through in life, you just have to keep putting that mind, soul, spirit and body to work as it’s the only way to get shit done, right? Yes. First, get down with this insanely motivating Tegan & Sara owned remix of “Body Work” below, then get those tickets to see globally renowned DJ Morgan Page take over NOTO this Friday for your first weekend of March pulsating pleasure. Let’s get physical on the dance floor. (10 pm

Cabaret Sauvignon/Franky Bradley’s Is there anything she magnificently can’t do? Of course, that magnificent she we’re reading tea leaves about here is fabulous local drag connoisseur, Ms. Lili St. Queer. When she’s not DJ’ing, tickin’ those keys as if her name is Alicia, or snatching all of the parts and wigs in another slaying round of her one-woman cabaret show this Friday night, she’s just an all around groovy gal who deserves all of your attention and love..right now. And you can begin by getting those tickets to her soon-to-be spectacular spectacle right here. Don’t miss it! (7 pm

That Local DJ Love, Though…Whether you sashay up the stairs to get your funkdafied freak on alongside DJ Chris Urban at Franky Bradley’s……or strut downstairs at Voyeur to get your Underground life on thanks to DJ KRK and his weekly dance floor gay-thering, both of these handsome ditty daddys will have you thinkin’ spring in no time thanks to the ignited fires they’ll be backdrafting out this Friday night in the Gayborhood. Ya ready? Yes. And remember…shade is never allowed on the dance floor, so leave all of the drama at home before you head out cut a it’s the only way to be under the strobes. Let’s fucking dance.
