All of the May Local Drag Tea w/Miss Brittany Lynn

Good morning kids!

Yassss for Spring time and multi-colored poop from Unicorn Fraps thanks to Starbucks, and their insidious ploy to kill the gays with sugars they would normally never DARE consume!

That’s a major marketing success when gays won’t eat a bagel but they will drink the equivalent of three large snickers bars-just to get that IG selfie with that sugary Unicorn spectacle…
So while half the Gayborhood dies from diabetes just before summertime, the rest of you gay guys and gals can work off those extra ounces from wagging your fingers and screaming “YASSSSSSSS!” at all of these GAY-MAY-ZING shows and stunts! Remember kids-Pride will be here before you know it, so let the eating disorders begin. If you’re gonna binge ya better purge!

So instead of drinking dyed gmo’s pretending to be Unicorn blood and pissing off baristas with your shitty, basic bitch order-toss all those dollars to these queens who keep you entertained all through May!

And speaking of Pride-just wait for next month’s tea-with the GAYEST Pride Month A-Happenings and interviews with my gay galpals Bruce Yelk (on his Distrk C Pride Extravaganza) and my sister Hennastacia Beach!

But for now kiddies-get into these events-like Miss Justin Timberlake sings, “It’s gonna be MAYYYY!”

EVERY MONDAY/Queens and Quizzo
Girls you have not LIVED until you’ve tasted the fried chicken at this place! Their $5 drink menu gets you all warm and toasty, and their happy hour food menu (all under $10 with the best in Southern cuisine) fills even the biggest of big girls from 5-7pm. Then it’s QUIZZO time, featuring the girls from the monthly Drag Brunch-yours truly, Crystal Electra, and Navaya Shay-win $50 for the night, with a $500 grand prize coming in June!

This month’s tea spotlight is all about 2 Queers and a Bitch-coming to Tabu THIS SUNDAY, April 30, for two shows at 6pm and 8pm. This star-studded show blows through Philly for one night only, with funny lady Robbyne Kaamil, who I met while we both worked at the infamous ProBar at Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, the hilarious Ike Avelli, and my drag sister-Atlantic City’s own Lady Labelle. This show is all sketch comedy, music, and audience participation-with surprises from Naked Sword (Porn) and WeedLips!!! (Who are they-well you have to come to the show and find out!) I had a really gay chat with Robbyne and Ike, for a little tea for the kids…

How did the two queers collide with the bitch? Give us some background on each of you…. Ike: I’ve always wanted to perform since I first seen The Carol Burnett Show in the 70’s. I didn’t get the chance to pursue my dream till I was 44. I started out performing at open mics in 2010 around the country and from there I began writing producing and starring in my own shows, which are Variety Based.
Robbyne: I am the official advice diva for Playgirl and also have a monthly column in DNA Magazine, Australia’s top gay publication. I have been making people laugh since I got out of diapers. Or perhaps I was still in them.
I have known Ike for years and always wanted to work with him. When I created 2 Queers and a Bitch he was the first one I called to work with me on this.

Tell us a little about the show’s concept….Robbyne: When we connected, we knew we wanted to do something different. We decided we wanted to do a show that when people walk away, they tell their friends and want to see it again. So we combine Comedy/Music/Sketch and Videos in our shows and the most important thing is Audience Participation.

At the end of the night, what message are you hoping people will get from your performances?
Robbyne: We hope that we lift the spirits of everyone who attends our shows. My grandmother used to say that sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying. In this current climate of economic uncertainty, racial disparity and social divide many tears have been shed. If we can help eliminate some of that pain if only for one hour it may help get someone through the day and give them the strength to hang the fuck on.

Yesssss gawd-this show is NOT to be missed! For advanced tickets go right here and check out their Facebook page right here and after you do all of that, head, um, straight to this fabulous Huffington Post article right here.

And once again…..2 Queers and a Bitch-6pm & 8pm, Sunday April 30th/Tabu/200 South 12th St./Tabu/200 S. 12th St

Be sure to check out these 2 Queers and a Bitch, as well as all of these other queers and bitches for their GAY-MAY-ZING events! Have a drag event you wanna see on “All the Drag Tea?” Hit me up Qween! I print ‘em if I get ‘em! Message me on my facebook page “The Vaginally Challenged Brittany Lynn” or at thedragmafia@gmail.com!

That’s all the tea for now kids-keep on sippin’!

ALL the January 2017 Drag Tea w/Ms. Brittany Lynn

Hey, kids!

Well 2016 has ripped us all a new one lately-we are saying goodbye to our favorite President since JFK and replacing him with…well…let’s just keep it cute for now…

We said goodbye to countless celebs like music icons Prince and Bowie, our beloved Princess Leia, and sent Postcards from the Edge to everyone’s stagemom Debbie Reynolds.

2016, we cannot take ANYMORE of you! Like I said on the Facebooks, you owe us ALL a puppy AND an apology!

But as one JITBAG of a year closes, a new and fresh one begins-and this one greets us with a lovely reacharound of all new events! Take a look kiddies and drink in all this Gayborhood tea:

Mummers New Year’s Day Parade with the Miss Fancy Brigade-9am, PHL 17 live broadcast, or watch it down Broad street from City Hall to Washington Ave. The ladies of the Miss Fancy Brigade, the only all LGBTQ Mummers Brigade, take to the streets to march for their fifth year with a Storybook theme. What was started in 2012 by yours truly with the help of my gay guru Mark Segal, then Councilman and now Mayor Jim Kenney, the Mummers President Jim Julia, and head of the Fancy Brigades-the infamous Rocco, the queens have officially brought drag back in full force for all the masses to see! Check out all the gals dressed as your favorite storybook characters, Disney Princesses, and of course, evil queens-and give some love to the Mummers LGBT Liason Committee-Lisa Thompson (of Bob & Barbara’s fame), Michael Byrne aka Gay Bingo’s Carlotta Tendant and Chumley Singer-for helping this old broad make the magic happen each New Year’s Day! The girls will be marching in front of a giant storybook with lots of gayborhood characters, volunteers, and story-telling, empowering banners courtesy of all of our participating sponsors!

Why do these ladies get up each year, after entertaining you all until the wee hours the night before-and slap on fresh war paint (well, some of us do) and brave the cold and a long walk in heels? I asked the ones that could read and write and here’s what they had to say…

Karen Vonsay:“This will be my wish to walk as many times possible for bobs@Bobs@Barbara”

Dusty Relix:“I’m marching because our community is resilient, and no matter what, love wins in the end.”

Iris Spectre:“I’m marching for hope and faith in our community and others alike. We are all walking together like we do in life, and with that walk we must band together to make progress!”

Roxy Von Phresh:“The love and pride of Philadelphia becomes tangible, I can wrap myself in it.”

Zsa Zsa St. James:“I’m marching to be a part of this amazing tradition and experiencing it for the first time.”

Navaya Shay:“The first year this brigade marched wasn’t enough for me..so here I am back, four years later, still loving it and keeping up with this Philadelphia tradition!!
This is the fifth year right..lol..time flys”

Aurora Whorealis:“I am marching because I was told there would be fried chicken. J/K!”
(Editor’s note: She wasn’t…)

Martini Madness: “I’m marching to see smiles on the kids faces and to encourage them to be who they are.”

Anthony Michael:“I’m marching for tradition and change! A tradition that is rooted deep in my family and our culture. A tradition that is evolving and changing for the better. To be a part of it this parade is amazing, especially as myself, a drag queen matching for equality and pride! “

ALL the November Local Drag Tea w/Brittany Lynn

Hey, kids!

Happy November! Lawwwd this year flew by quick-everytime I blink, I feel like Robert DeNiro in Awakenings (if you’re under 30 look it up dangnabbit)! We went from summer to two days of fall and right to winter. Not to sound like an old lady, but in my day we had FOUR seasons. Thanks global warming and to all the girls from the Northeast I went to highschool with in the 90’s that loved their Aqua Net and killed our ozone layer.

So with fall comes the PUMPKIN. Are you kids all enjoying all that pumpkin flavored stuff from pumpkin coffee to pumpkin spice tampons? Well…me neither! Knock it off with the pumpkin already-it’s only acceptable as room freshener at PayLess stores or mixed into the occasional jar of ketamine. But with fall also comes Thanksgiving and some pretty GAYMAYZING drag events-check ‘em out ladyboys!

Beauty Ball: 7pm, 11/5, @Woody’s Ladyboys rejoice! And don’t put away that “I’ll only wear this once” drag outfit you scored at Ross just yet-the Beauty Ball returns to Woody’s this Satuday. I had a minute to chat with the always adorable Ryan Wyrofsky for the lowdown on the festivities…Here’s what’s what: “Philadelphia’s 7th Annual Beauty Ball, an amateur drag party and fundraiser, will take place at Woodys from 7-10pm! It’s a great excuse to bust out the wigs and heels from your closet or to try dressing up in drag for the first time, though you don’t need to come in drag to enjoy the event! All proceeds raised will go to the William Way LGBT Community Center, which helps encourage, support, and advocate for the well-being and acceptance of sexual and gentle minorities in the Philadelphia area.

Bev and I have been in charge of the planning Beauty Ball the past two years, and this year we’re hoping to raise more money than ever before! I bought a new pair of 6″ pumps this year, and am being painted by local drag queen Mistor Fahrenheit. We hope to see you all this Saturday as we serve up some glamour realness and support our LGBT committee and the William Way Center!”
Woody’s-1300 Walnut St.; (215) 545-1893

Amatuer Drag Night: 8pm/11/6/L’Etage Vanessa Sterling collects the newest of ladyboys to hit the L’Etage stage for a one night contest-winner gets some hard earned cash money, and the losers will be out later at 12th and Pine making money the old fashioned way… L’Etage-624 S. 6th St.; (215) 592-0656

Miss Tabu: 9pm/11/11/Tabu The ultra fabulous Dusty Relix, the first Miss Tabu, passes down her crown to the winner who will carry on the tradtion of marching with the Miss Fancy Brigade representing Tabu, and the heiress of unlimited tater tots all year round! Tabu-200 S. 12th St, Phila.; (215) 964-9675

Vera Vixens: 9pm/11/16/VERA Everyone’s favorite fish Ariel Versace, hosts a drag night over in Joisey with Cherry St. Cartier, Jolina Jolie (Miss Paradise, Asbury Park), Chasity St. Cartier, and Aida Snatchwell. No cover and get there early as the place gets filled QUICKLY! VERA-2310 Marlton Pike; (856) 486-1001

Petty Thursdays: 9pm/11/17/Boxers Chasity St. Cartier, Philly’s pettiest queen, presents the pettiest of Petty Von Pettys to see which contestant wins the title of Pettiest performer-and some cash! Also PETTY! Boxers-1330 Walnut St.; (215) 735-2977

Drag Cabaret: 6:30pm/11/18/Bucks County Community College Local Philly kings and queens perform at Bucks to raise money for Bucks Villa, a house community for people living with HIV/AIDS. Hosted by Lady Geisha, but be ready for Donna Ria to go live on facebook and start painting three days before the show. 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, (215) 968-8000

Drag Me to Landmark-Diva Showdown!: 9pm/11/18/Landmark Americana Glassboro
Astala Vista gathers some amazing performers (amen Pissi Myles) to battle against each other Drag Race style-audience members will be able to TEXT IN THEIR VOTE LIVE and ultimately decide which Queen will take home the crown and a 6-Month Booking Contract, making them a regular cast member at Drag Me To Landmark! I hope these ladies have more than a bra and panty set and an Easy Pickin’s dress cuz it’s about to go down! Landmark-1 Mullica Hill Rd,, Glassboro, NJ

Bob and Barbara’s Thanksgiving Show: 11pm/11/24/Bob & Barbara’s
Lisa Lisa, the girl so nice they named her twice, opens up the doors of Bob & Barbara’s for us-AND gives us a Thanksgiving show so we all have an excuse to run away from our families and the carbs they put out on the dinner table. But you will have to fight Karen VonSay here if you want her last turkey drumstick. Bob & Barbara’s-1509 South Street; (215) 545-4511

Queer Performers of Color: 10:30pm/11/26/Cibo Ian Lesage and Karaoke Superstar Leo Gonzales bring together an all persons of color cast that features various artists/performers from the gayborhood. Cutie pie and Songbird winner Leo told me, “We aim to give an all-inclusive show by empowering unity and solidarity in the community through our artistry and performances.” Performances by Aurora Whorealis, Zsa Zsa St. James, Sapphira Cristal, Jarrett McCreary, Kevyn Mines, Aida Bummcake, Otis Pena, and Jaeda. Cibo-1227 Walnut, (215) 923-8208

This month, I take my DRAGCATION-a 30 day, NO DRAG time of rest and revamping.
This being my 20th year of shows and stunts, I need a short break from the makeup, the drama, and the kids. But I am grateful and thankful to still be the hardest working queen in Philly after two decades. Don’t worry I’ll be back and stronger than ever in December after sucking the life force out of all the city twinks that cross my path this month. That being said, I asked some of my gayest galpals to tell me what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving season, and this is what they had to say…

Martha Graham Cracker (Living Legend, Hairy Cabaret Star, Loveable Jitbag) “I’m grateful for coffee, Dolly, and this city with all its bizarro charms.”

Henastacia Beach (Spill the Tea Revue coming to Tabu Nov. 17th at 9pm!, Daughter of Sandy Beach at times lol) “I’m grateful for my real friends and family that have kept my head on straight after Venture closing, and for my first husband Michael Starr…Also my full lustrous hair.”

Miss Ty Pierce (Tabu royalty, Superstar model of the world)
This Thanksgiving I’m thankful that I’m still hot at almost 40, Gucci, Brittany Lynn, my parents, and 5 inch heels.. Happy gobble gobble everyone. Oh and that Donald Trump didn’t become president...❤❤❤❤❤

Aeryanah Von Moi (Actress, Singer, 12th Street Gym Spokeswoman with a phone, Opinionated Facebook Poster) “I am Thankful for Air Conditioning, Lobster Mac N Cheese, Xanax, skewers, and the ability to have selective hearing.”

Zsa Zsa St. James (Everyone’s favorite lady, Diva)
“I’m grateful for everyone in my life that have loved and supported me throughout this rough year.” (Editor’s Note: We Love You Zsa Zsa!!!”

John Jarboe (Bearded Ladies Cabaret, Teenage Heart throb, and Gin Enthusiast)
“I’m grateful for my ever emerging queer lineage and all the wise elders in my life who feed me.”

Billy Cavallo (Mr. Stoli 199?, Bartender, Butch Nelly, Video Star of “Pull Out it Hurts” with Brittany Lynn) Billy Cavallo is thankful for all of the opportunities that philly has given him, including finally being on track to pursue his dream job as a physicians assistant, his amazingly supportive family, Mr. Michael Duffy, and of course, Stoli. Stoli, without whom he would be a nobody selling his ass on the corner to buy bankers club.” (Thank you, Billy, for speaking in the third person-love youuuuu…)

Honeytree EvilEye (Burlesque star, Cabaret Star, Downright Gorgeous and Most Smartest Person I Know) “I’m grateful for the folks who support live performance, especially queer artists, women and people of color. You make it possible for these voices to be heard. Also I’m thankful for Mac n cheese because it’s the best.”

Dusty Relix (Miss Tabu 2016, Former Miss Woods, Gay and Fabulous!) “This year I am thankful for my husband and his support through all the craziness in my life, and for full-coverage foundation.”

Navaya Shay (Sinful Sundays Performer, Wears a Helmet at Times for Protection, Herbal Essence Enthusiast) “I’m grateful for big, uncut dick and fried pickes…”

Chasity St. Cartier (Petty Thursdays, Hair by Chariel Partner, Vera Vixen, Petty Bitch)
“I’m thankful to for all the opportunities 2016 has given me and I’m mostly thankful for venmo.” (Yes Chasity Veno sure has made a big splash in the gaybrorhood this year haha-but that’s none of my business…)

Well, that’s all for now kids-have a GAYYYYYY Thanksgiving!

Love and lashes,

Brittany Lynn

And to give proper thanks to Ms. Lynn for all the werk that she properly gives us, check put Philly Drag Mafia right now, queen.
