Rewerk Wednesday/3LAU

Who’s ready for a little–or a f@#k of–a lot of Vegas inspired DJ heat down at the Jersey Shore this weekend?

If you answered hells yes to that question, then you’re sick and tired of Celine Dion singing the Titanic theme in your head because icebergs everywhere right now and you’re more than ready to get your funkdafied freak on and stuff as we kick off February.

Or, you’re more than ready to dive into whatever electrified shenanigans Las Vegas based music producer and DJ 3LAU has planned for his takeover of Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Daer Nightclub this upcoming Saturday night.

Yeah, that’s definitely it.

Known for his eclectic mix of electro, dubstep and house music influences, 3LAU(real name…Justin Blau) was born in Syossett, New York in 1991 and eventually moved to Las Vegas with his family in 2004. However, this seemed like a destined place for Blau to be as he was born into a creative household and began singing and playing guitar right as he arrived in the city of sin.

But it wasn’t until traveling in Sweden in his early ’20s that Blau dove into the wonderfully weird and inspiring world of house music. By the end of 2011, his moniker 3LAU was officially born and the soon-to-be red-hot DJ uploaded a mix of his mash-ups to YouTube. It wasn’t long before his collection caught the headphones’ attention of superstar beat maestros Porter Robinson and Bob Sinclair, both of whom collaborated with 3LAU on his debut (and currently ongoing) series, Dance Floor Filth

From that dirty ditty moment, he would not just go on to serve out a handful of hits along the way including “We Came to Bang” (w/Luciana), “Is It Love”(w/Yeah Boy), “Game Time”(w/Ninja), and “Touch,” a sexually somber electro jam co-starring the soul piercing vocals of Ms. Carly Paige…pure beat bliss.

But that’s certainly not all when it comes to 3LAU’s massively shimmering catalog as he’s also rewired some of the biggest names in the biz along with their hits including Zedd’s “Spectrum,” Katy Perry’s “Bon Appetit,” Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain,” and his most deeply delicious (and most well-known) rewerk to date, a bubbly retelling of Ari Grande’s “Into You.”

It’s all of this and more that we hope the globe trotting and dance chart owning DJ will dish out at Daer Nightclub this weekend. There’s really only one way to find out…get those tickets and pump up the volume until we smash into spring.

Right, Ms. Dion? Yes. Go…as those 3LAU beats will certainly be going on and on until we just can’t take it anymore. Lucky for us, we can.

Rewerk Wednesday/R3hab

Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, (“Work!!”), Bruno Mars, Calvin Harris, Halsey, Dan + Shay, Lady Gaga.

Those are just a few of the many names that EDM producer DJ Fadil El Ghoul–otherwise by his stage and world tour dominating name, R3hab--whose original tracks mixed, mashed and serve our feet with all to move on the dance floor of life….

……and this Saturday, he’s about to do all of that and so much more when he takes over Haven Nightclub in Atlantic City in the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino.

Jumpstarting his career in 2008 producing the tracks, “Mrkrstft” and “Blue Magic” alongside fellow DJ Hardwell, R3hab would eventually link up with Afrojack in 2011 on “Aces High (Prutata), and it was pretty much thanks to that trio of monster club hits that he would come to werk with all of those names listed above.

And when it comes to his slay alongside Aussie DJ Diva Havana Brown on the ever-so-classic, “Big Banana?” Fucking priceless.

Over the years, R3hab certainly been a master of his own material releasing several records on Afrojack’s Wall Recordings label, but it was his later partnership with Spinnin’ Records that would not just lead him to his own weekly radio show on SiriusXM, but also a handful of International Dance Music Awards that led R3hab even greater stateside notoriety.

These days, El Ghoul continues to be a dominating force on the festival circuit (hey there, Coachella) and will no doubt continue to own our fist pumpin’ lives forever. For much more with this globally dominating DJ, you must dive into his latest record, The Wave, right here and his 2017 set, Trouble, here, as well as on this playlist of rewerks below.

And going to witness him take over Atlantic City this weekend wouldn’t hurt either, if it does, you know it would only be the good kind of pain brought on by the one-and-only, R3hab
