Pride Groove of the Day/Lady Gaga/”Born This Way”

“It doesn’t matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up ’cause you were born this way, baby

My mama told me when I was young
We are all born superstars

She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir

“There’s nothing wrong with loving who you are”
She said, “‘Cause he made you perfect, babe”
“So hold your head up girl and you’ll go far,
Listen to me when I say”

I’m beautiful in my way
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby I was born this way

Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way (Born this way)

Oh there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Oh there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
Right track baby I was born this way

Don’t be a drag, just be a queen
Don’t be a drag, just be a queen
Don’t be a drag, just be a queen
Don’t be don’t be don’t be

Give yourself prudence
And love your friends
So we can rejoice your truth

In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth

A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M (hey hey hey)
I love my life I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe, yah

I’m beautiful in my way
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Oh there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Oh there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
Right track, baby I was born this way

Don’t be a drag, just be a queen
Whether you’re broke or evergreen
You’re black, white, beige, chola descent
You’re Lebanese, you’re Orient
Whether life’s disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied, or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
‘Cause baby you were born this way

No matter gay, straight, or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I’m on the right track baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I’m on the right track baby
I was born to be brave

I’m beautiful in my way
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby I was born this way

Don’t hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you’re set
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born this way yeah

Oh there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way (Born this way)
Oh there ain’t no other way
Baby I was born this way
Right track, baby I was born this way

I was born this way hey
I was born this way hey
I’m on the right track baby
I was born this way hey

I was born this way hey
I was born this way hey
I’m on the right track baby
I was born this way hey

Same D.N.A. but born this way
Same D.N.A. but born this way”

Get the point? Good. Let’s dance.

Grammy Performance of the Day/Lady Gaga/Elton John/”Your Song”/”Speechless”

If anyone on this post Super Bowl Monday has a touch of a headache today, it’s not because you hit the wings and the drinks a bit too hard last night. And it’s also not because you still can’t figure out how the Atlanta Falcons completely blew their massive first half lead to let the New England Patriots come back and completely steal in the second half. (in overtime, none the less, a first for the Super Bowl).

No, you’re feeling it today because Lady Gaga came in and completely snatched the wigs of all of us with her pulsating and patriotic half time performance that will go down as one of–if not the–best ever.  Throw in the announcement of her Joanne World Tour and there’s truly no better music artist to kick off (all football puns intended, of course) Philly Mixtape’s Grammy week than Ms. Germanotta.

So, to get this Grammy party started off right, take a fun Monday reminisce sesh all the way back to 2010 when Gaga hit the awards stage for the very first time with a little help from Sir Elton John. While indeed, it’s a bit weird and frenzied in the beginning with her rendition of ‘Poker Face,” but once the two megastars joined forces for a powerful “Your Song”/”Speechless” medley, well, you’ll see that there’s truly ain’t no other way to say that Ms. Lady Gaga deserved her Super Bowl slay and everything that comes her way from here on out.

Get your rhyme on and take a peak.

Groove of the Weekend/Lady Gaga/”Bad Romance”

So, in case you haven’t heard (and if you haven’t, you’re, like, not born this way yet), there’s a big ol’ Lady Gaga concert set to take place tomorrow night.

And right in the middle of a football game, none the less.

Of course, this just isn’t any football game, it’s the football game-aka Super Bowl–in which two teams–New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons–will fight against all those commercials and Ms. Gaga’s shenanigans for a trip to Disney World and a chance to win our sports hearts forever.

But truly at the end of the day and halftime, all eyes and paws will be on Ms. Lady, and while we truly have no idea just what she has in store for us (rumor has it she’s hatching, err, dropping out of the ceiling of the sports dome), what we can do is prepare ourselves to get even more woke for The Countess (for once, that role works creatively), which means you should absolutely check back into Philly Mixtape a touch later this weekend for a look at 5 ways on how we can achieve such a feat.

Because from the looks of it, that’s simply like winning the big game itself as it seems we’re all more wide awake than Ms. Perry for whatever Gaga and this year’s Super Bowl spectacular have in store for us.

And please, for the love of all things Gaga and the game, let’s keep it cute on those social media front lines this weekend as this is one festivity that will always belong to us and nobody’s Twitter rants/opinions.

Ready, set, free bitch, baby.

Sports!

This year’s grooves sound like…
