1.One Direction’s Louis breaks silence after baby daddy news…..

Sorry girls and gays. It’s official-One Direction star Louis Tomlinson‘s life will be taking a new direction as news broke that he’s going to be a baby daddy. Since word got out about the news, Mr. Tomlinson has remained mum on the subject–until now.

Tomlinson, a fairly active Twitter user, finally broke his silence this morning, but unfortunately for Directioners, he didn’t give any comment on the news.

Louis is reportedly expecting a baby with stylist Briana Jungwirth, but neither he nor his rep have released an official statement. Billboard confirmed the news shortly after it broke…so you know it’s true.

2.This summer’s one-hit wonder, OMI, discusses how “Cheerleader” almost didn’t happen…..

By now, we’re all familiar with OMI‘s sun-drenched single, “Cheerleader.” This week, the shimmering song hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart just in time for him to sip some music tea in Pop Shop Podcast. While sitting down with the music bible, the rising Jamaican music artist artist discusses the slow international growth of the single, why the lyrics shouldn’t offend anyone and how “Cheerleader” was almost left as an album interlude instead of a proper single.

Get to know Mr. OMI a little bit right here….cause after the summer’s gone…you may not hear from him again. #truth

3.Frenchie Davis owns it singing a jazzy cover of Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen”…

Former American Idol contestant Frenchie Davis (remember her?) recently took on Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” in the first installment of a new video series, Hip Hop Musicals. The result? It’s absoluteky fabulous as the 36-year old diva adds her trademark sass and strong vocals while taking the original to soaring new heights. But, the best part of Ms. Davis’ performance is that she slays it all with a sassy hand-on-the-hip. A must watch for your Thursday.

4.Why was Britney Spears at the ESPY’s?

Last night’s ESPY awards were no doubt a sports affair to remember (you better werk, Ms. Caitlyn), and also featured a handful of rather unlikely couples. There was noted Red Sox fan Ben Affleck presenting (lifelong Yankee) Derek Jeter with the Icon Award, Ciara almost presenting an award to the Patriots, and the one-and-only Britney Spears joining forces with Texans defensive end J.J. Watt to present the award for Best Female Athlete.

While we still can’t figure out why Britney was there (and looking terrified, as usual), the two did have quite a bit fun with their bit that was all about living Brit Brit‘s “Baby One More Time” life. Check it out below.

5.Own it, boo.

1.Martha Stewart can’t stop getting her Belieber on…

Martha Stewart and Justin Bieber-truly, a match made in pop culture heaven. This week, the former ‘Orange is the New Black‘ domestic arts diva interviewed Justin Bieber for Interview magazine. It’s no secret that earlier this year, Ms. Stewart took interest in the pop singer with a few shade throws his way during his now-infamous roast. Now, the two have kept their bro-mance going strong with a short, sweet chat that discusses Bieber’s favorite transportation (private jet, of course.) and his relationship status. He’s single! .

But, one answer that surprised Ms. Stewart was when Justin told her he had a 4.0 G.P.A. in high school. Now, just why was Ms. Stewart so shocked? Because she thought he dropped out.

2.Billboard looks at all those boy-banders that went solo….

Those that lived through the ’90s & ’00s certainly lived for our boy bands-NKOTB, Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync, Five. But, as us kids also saw–jumping from boy band fame to solo stardom is not an easy process. Many boy band members have attempted the leap, and while some have crashed and burned, others have soared by working hard to break that sticky boy-band mold.

So, just which former boy-banders does Billboard have the most memorable tween leap? They’ve got 10 on their list, including Jordan Knight, Ashley Parker Angel, and of course, Mr. Timberlake.

Perm that hair and check out the rest of the list right here. You know you want to.

3.Rod Stewart does carpool karaoke….and it’s everything….

By now, we seen plenty of music artists take on carpool karaoke with James CorsdenJennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, even Iggy Azalea. In the latest edition, British rock legend Rod Stewart gets a turn behind the music wheel, and it’s everything you need on this soggy hump day.

When asked about the most rock ‘n’ roll experience of his life, the 70-year-old crooner’s answer was as candid as you can get.  “I don’t know, mate. There’s been so many. We were outrageous with the Faces.” In what way? “Drinking and a shagging. And a drinking and a shagging. That’s what we did. And smashing up hotel rooms.” Stewart also recalled how the Faces were banned from the Holiday Inn, so they always checked in as Fleetwood Mac. Classic.

Get your sexy on with the hilarious clip below. And is that A.$.A.P Rocky alongside Mr. Stewart? It most certainly is.

4.Pentatonix covers OMI’s “Cheerleader” while opening for Kelly Clarkson……

As if we didn’t need anymore proof that a capella group Pentatonix is already tremendously talented, last night they proved it once again when they surprised fans with a cover of OMI’s “Cheerleader” during a recent tour stop at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.

The gifted quartet is currently on tour opening for Kelly Clarkson on her Piece By Piece tour and have been joining the diva on stage nightly to perform “HeartBeat Song” alongside her.

Check it out right here.

5. Ciara brought down the house with her rendition of the National Anthem at last night’s MLB All-Star Game….

No, you’re not hallucinating. Just watch.

3.50 Cent files for bankruptcy…..

Uh-oh. Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection according to the Wall Street Journal.

According to court documents filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy, Mr. Jackson’s “debts are primarily consumer debts.” The one-time unstoppable rapper reported assets and liabilities ranging from $10-$50 million.

The unfortunate filing comes close to two months after 50 Cent’s boxing promotions company, SMS Promotions, filed for “relief under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy code.”

And as if 50 didn’t have enough drama, on Friday, a jury ordered Mr. Cent to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston who claims the rapper acquired a sex tape she made with her boyfriend at the time, which he used in a 2009 13-minute video featuring him as commentator, Pimpin’ Curly, throwing shade Leviston and fellow rapper Rick Ross, who have a daughter together.

Yikes, 50.

4.Ryan Murphy spills all kinds of tea about Lady Gaga on ‘American Horror Story:Hotel’..

Comic-Con attendees got quite a scary treat when the stars of the much anticipated American Horror Story: Hotel appeared on a joint panel with the stars of Scream Queens.

Returning AHS vets Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters were joined by new addition Matt Bomer and co-creator Ryan Murphy to preview just what the hell will be going down when viewers check into the haunted hotel this October.

Although Murphy and his stars were tight-lipped (as they usually are), they did reveal their character names: Bates is Iris, Bassett is Ramona, Peters is Mr. March, Bomer is Donovan and Paulson will play Hypodermic Sally. (#yas)

“Actually everybody on this side of the table are bad boys and girls this year,” he said pointing to the entire AHS team on the panel. “The fun thing about the show is I always want to write the opposite of the season before.”

Murphy also went on to high-praise his new leading lady, Ms. Lady Gaga, who is all set to play an evil character as well. “She said, ‘I want to be evil.’ And I said, ‘OK, you came to the right place,’ ” Murphy said.

But, one thing Gaga won’t be doing this season? Singing.  “Never say never,” said Murphy. “I felt I got that out of my system. I loved doing it and I thought it was a weird thing that we did. But no, I feel like the fun of it is doing something different. So I feel like we did that.”

Hey, at least we’ll always have “The Name Game“……

5.We can all calm down….Demi Lovato didn’t throw shade at Ariana Grande…..

Just to clear things up on this steamy July Monday–Demi Lovato says there is no music shade between her and Ariana Grande. However, over the weekend, that was quite a different story according to some fans…

At this past weekend’s MLB All-Star game, Lovato performed her 2013 single “Made in the USA.” Some thought the patriotic song choice — as well as the fact that Lovato reportedly asked everyone in attendance the question, “How many of you guys are proud to be an American?” — were meant to shade Grande, who is still recovering from Donutgate, err, wisdom teeth surgery.

Not so, according to Lovato, who addressed the rumors on her Twitter account on Sunday…over and over again.

No shade, right?
