Originally part of their 1982 album, Saints & Sinners, “Here I Go Again” was re-recorded for overseas rock band Whitesnake’s chart smashing self-titled 1987 album. Taking over the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks, the ’80s anthem would become the Aqua Net loving group’s biggest hit, and would also give life to the career of “actress” Tawny Kitean, who went on to marry (and divorce) Whitesnake lead singer Robert Coverdale from 1988 to 1991.
Helmed by famed ’80s music video director Marty Callner (Aerosmith, Cher, Bon Jovi, Heart, the list goes on & on), the video for “Here I Go Again” became bigger than the song itself, mostly because it featured Kitaen owning her life and seducing us while slipping, sliding and cartwheeling all over the hoods of not one, but two Jaguar XJs. Her iconic, um, moves, would not just become the fantasy of every man in the entire country, but you have to admit it, you know that every time you’re washing your car, there will be always be that sudden urge to get up on the hood and (try) to recreate those iconic moves.
However, let’s face it, you know you’ll never be able to match them quite like Ms. Tawny did back-in-the-’80s-day.
